At Dutor, we strive to provide a reliable and transparent learning experience for both students and tutors. This Refund Policy explains the circumstances under which refunds may be granted for lessons and services booked through the Dutor platform.
By using Dutor, you agree to this Refund Policy and our Terms of Service.
Dutor is an online marketplace that connects students with independent tutors. Payments are processed through the Dutor platform, while tutoring services are provided by the tutors themselves.
Refund requests are evaluated fairly and in accordance with applicable Egyptian laws, including the Egyptian Consumer Protection Law (Law No. 181 of 2018), where applicable.
If a tutor offers a free trial lesson, no payment is collected for that lesson and therefore no refund applies.
Students may cancel a scheduled lesson at least 4 hours before its scheduled start time and receive a 100% refund or credit to their Dutor wallet.
If a lesson is cancelled less than 4 hours before its scheduled start time, the lesson fee is generally non-refundable, unless:
If a tutor cancels a confirmed lesson before it begins, the student will receive either:
Repeated tutor cancellations may result in account restrictions.
If a lesson cannot be delivered because of technical issues caused by the tutor or the Dutor platform, the student may receive:
Technical issues caused by the student's own internet connection, device, software, or environment generally do not qualify for a refund.
If a student believes that a lesson was not delivered as described or ended significantly earlier than scheduled without a valid reason, the student must submit a complaint within 2 days of the lesson.
Dutor may review:
Based on the review, Dutor may grant a full refund, partial refund, wallet credit, or deny the request.
If the student does not attend the lesson without prior cancellation, the lesson is considered completed and is generally non-refundable.
If the tutor fails to attend without prior notice, the student is entitled to a full refund or wallet credit.
If Dutor introduces subscription plans in the future:
Users should contact Dutor before initiating a chargeback with their payment provider.
Fraudulent or abusive refund requests may result in suspension or termination of the user's account.
Approved refunds will typically be processed within 7–14 business days. Actual processing times may vary depending on the payment provider or bank.
Dutor reserves the right to deny refund requests where:
Nothing in this policy limits any rights granted to consumers under applicable Egyptian law.
